A few years ago members of Trefoil Guild (Wales/Cymru) had Dave Cooke as guest speaker at their A.G.M. held in Llandinam.

Dave Cooke is the founder of charities Operation Christmas Child and he spoke about the annual event of sending decorated shoe boxes filled with goodies to places that had suffered disasters.

He spoke about the children who would have otherwise gone without a gift at Christmas.

Aberdare members of Trefoil has since packed shoe boxes with such things as a books, pencils, soft toys, knitted hats, toothbrush, flannel, etc.
